Title:  Linux Admin/Security Analyst

Description:  We are looking for a Linux Admin/Security Analyst to help build and manage information security systems for U.S. government clients. Applicants must be technically proficient in Linux system administration. The ideal candidate should be able to engineer and support new security solutions, and apply technology to existing processes and systems to gain efficiencies, using open source and commercial tools/software. The types of systems might include: intrusion detection, log collection/aggregation and analysis, network management, vulnerability scanning and analysis, security information management systems, etc. Any candidate should be team player who is highly motivated, has a great attitude, and possesses solid communication skills. We are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to work in many areas of the information security field. This job has some engineering responsibilities as well as responsibilities that are operational in nature. This work primarily involves:
  • Linux system administration
  • Security system engineering
  • Network and security system management
  • Security event collection and management
Other responsibilities vary from project to project but may include:
  • Assisting in the design, deployment, and management of IDS sensors, IDS management software and security event collection and reporting software
  • Assisting in the administration of Linux server systems
  • Assisting with ad hoc security projects such as penetration tests, wireless IDS systems, risk assessments, etc.
Requirements:  This position requires a Bachelor's degree and four to five years of experience working in the information security field. The candidate must be detailed-oriented and willing to document work thoroughly; certifications are preferred. Requirements also include: Linux system administration; IDS system experience (Snort, etc.); Open source tool and scripting skills, experience with Snort, Splunk, Hobbit, Debian, Red Hat Enterprise License server, and Syslog-ng; SAN technology; very strong TCP/IP skills; strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
